Sevilla win record sixth Europa League title
Sevilla extended their record in the UEFA Europa League by winning the competition for a sixth time after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Inter Milan in Cologne. Inter took the lead after just five minutes when Romelu Lukaku converted a penalty after being brought down in the box. But Luuk de Jong scored twice before Diego Carlos’ spectacular overhead kick deflected in off Romelu Lukaku to seal another European triumph for the Spanish side. Sevilla held on to secure another Europa League triumph and hand manager Julen Lopetegui the first trophy of his managerial career.

The first substitution in Football League history
Keith Peacock made Football League history in 1965 when he became the first substitute used in a league match. The Charlton Athletic forward replaced injured goalkeeper Mike Rose after just 11 minutes against Bolton Wanderers, with full-back John Hewie temporarily taking over in goal before Peacock entered the game.
Player sent off after urinating during match
Atletico Awajun striker Sebastián Muñoz received a red card during a Copa Peru play-off match in 2024 after appearing to urinate beside the pitch while waiting to take a corner. Opposition players alerted the referee, who dismissed the forward for unsportsmanlike conduct. The incident occurred during a stoppage while the opposing goalkeeper received treatment.
