Liverpool’s 10-goal European rout: The night Dundalk were swept aside at Anfield
Liverpool recorded the biggest competitive victory in their history, defeating Irish part-time side Dundalk 10-0 in the European Fairs Cup. The Reds were 5-0 ahead at half-time before adding another five goals after the break in a record-breaking Anfield performance.

5,000 games of history: Blackburn Rovers reach Football League milestone
Blackburn Rovers celebrated their 5,000th Football League match in September 2023 with a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Ewood Park. The founding member became only the seventh club to reach the landmark, joining Preston North End, Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County, Bolton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion in an exclusive group of clubs to achieve the feat.
